Trying to support local, ended up at Starbucks, but God had a plan…
I dropped off my daughter at her Homeschool Enrichment classes this morning, and started to make the journey to try a new coffee shop to sit down and do some work. I drove over, and to my disappointment, it was closed for renovation. Tried to go to Better Buzz and noticed the huge line for drive thru, a line outdoors and again to my disappointment, no space to work indoors. Let me begin to say that I don’t dislike Starbucks, I was just on such a mission to support local this morning and so I was trying to keep it as a last resort. I Yelped a local taco shop because I was hoping to get a California burrito last week and didn’t, so thought today might be a good day to do so. Drove up, it was closed.
Cue Frustration.
Okay, Starbucks it is. If there’s one thing about certain businesses and brands, it’s consistency. I knew that Starbucks would have great WiFi, a gluten free breakfast item I could have, good seating and good parking (majority of the time). Again as I mentioned, I really just wanted to support local this morning.
After I ordered my items, I went to sit down and looked over at a table with a group and had to take a triple take at one of the guys at the table. Sure enough, it was a friend I have known for almost 2 decades, who also is closely connected to another person who’s very connected in Liberty Station. I am not name dropping for now only because there have been plans I have been praying for awhile now, and for some reason, I have a feeling these two might be part of this in the future. So for now, I’m going to wait to share.
If there’s one thing I need to remember, I know that I can make all the plans I want, but I’ve learned enough that ultimately, God is going to put me in places I need to be, and talk to people I know I need to talk to. After 3 failed attempts to be where I thought I wanted to be, I ended up at a place to see people I already knew, to possibly have doors open in the future that I have already been praying for.
As I often say, stay tuned! I leave you with a song that I play often when I want to “Cue Frustration.” :]
