Private Walking Tour of Arts District Liberty Station

Today I was invited to experience an amazing private tour of Arts District Liberty Station with President and CEO, Lisa Johnson. I shared in February that this event was on my calendar but didn’t want to officially announce until it actually happened. I am so grateful as it is an exclusive opportunity that I will forever cherish. I have mentioned before in past posts that I did not learn until December 2024 that my dad trained here in Liberty Station at the Naval Training Center. He’s been in the Philippines for the past 15 years and I haven’t had a chance to visit him, and have been missing him for quite some time.

Being here in Liberty Station truly helps me feel closer to my dad, and working in a place where he also trained at has given me even more motivation to serve my community in better ways. I brought this framed photo around on our tour for sentimental reasons, and I originally wanted to hang the frame inside of Trader Joe’s, but it will live on my Moniker desk in the meantime.

Thank you again, Lisa for bestowing so much knowledge and wisdom upon me today! The history nerd in me was such a happy camper. Side note, I love how we started the tour at the Dick Laub NTC Command Center. I seem to be hanging out with the Laubs a lot this week!

Lastly, for founders, business owners and managers who operate in Point Loma and OB, Arts District of Liberty Station will be hosting the next Point Loma Association Business Mixer at Vesper Venue on March 18 and I would love to see you there!
